10 Movies to Get Hyped for in 2026
The third and final installment in the sweeping interplanetary saga helmed by Denis Villeneuve— who is also set to direct the next Bond movie—will conclude the story of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides, with Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson and Jason Momoa among the returning cast. Expect more giant sandworms, Zendaya kicking ass, and scenes of Chalamet’s Atreides hoovering up space P=psychedelics, aka “melange.” Back when he was writing it, Villeneuve said that this film wouldn’t be “like a trilogy,” and would be “something that feels different and has its own identity,” which presumably means that we’ll at least get something of a time jump, if not a complete stylistic shakeup.
Werwulf
December 25
It feels as though a creepy new Robert Eggers joint has become a bi-annual staple of the cinematic calendar over the last decade; we look forward to his curious horror creations like few other filmmakers working today. (For good reason—between The Witch, The Lighthouse, The Northman, and Nosferatu, he’s four-for-four.) And with a cast featuring regular Eggers players Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson, Werwulf sounds like classic Eggers territory, throwing it back to 13th-century England for a gothic and gory take on lycan folklore.
The Moment
2026 TBD
A24 is teaming up with music video director Aidan Zamiri—whose videography includes “360” and “Guess” by Charli XCX, plus “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish—to make what sounds like a tantalisingly meta mockumentary about a pop star who embarks on her “first headlining tour,” per the official synopsis. But that’s kind of burying the lede, because the protagonist of The Moment is played by Charli herself, in what will be her first major movie role. The rest of the cast? Like the VIP after party at a big pop concert, it’s a crazy stacked affair: Alexander Skarsgård, Kate Berlant, Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, Isaac Cole Powell, Shygirl, and Rosanna Arquette are all set to appear, among others.
