Israeli strike kills more than 20, Gaza hospital says

An Israeli attack in the north of the Gaza Strip killed 21 people on Wednesday, with more bodies believed to be under the rubble, staff at the Kamal Adwan Hospital said.

Palestinian witnesses reported that a four-storey residential building in Beit Lahia near the hospital had been hit.

The Israeli military did not initially comment. It says Hamas is currently trying to reorganize in the northern and central sections of the coastal strip.

According to the Palestinian authorities, more than 44,700 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Gaza war. No distinction is made in these figures between civilians and fighters.

The Israeli military has repeatedly emphasized that it takes measures to reduce the risk to civilians.

Israel reports death of two Hamas October 7 fighters

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday that it had killed two Hamas militants who took part in the October 7 massacre on Israel.

One of them led an attack on an Israeli military post near the border with the Gaza Strip, in which 14 Israeli soldiers were killed, the IDF posted on X.

It said the man, who was killed in a former school building in Gaza City, had also attacked Israeli troops in the Gaza Strip during the subsequent war.

In a separate strike on Jabalia, the military also killed the head of Hamas’ paragliding unit, who directed the militia’s advance into Israeli territory on October 7 from the air – during which some fighters entered Israel by paraglider.

The IDF did not say exactly when the two men were killed.

Four rockets fired from Gaza Strip at Israel

Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired four rockets at Israel early on Wednesday, setting off sirens in border communities.

The Israeli military said two missiles were intercepted and two fell in uninhabited open areas of Israel. There were no reports of injuries.

Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip has become increasingly rare.
