These Are the Big Winners From This Year’s Watch Oscars
It’s the biggest night in watches. On Thursday night, the watch Illuminati industry gathers in Geneva for the GPHG awards, widely considered the Oscars of the watch world. Judged by a panel of horological experts, including journalists, industry execs, and others, the ceremony is attended by a who’s who of important watch-related personalities. Winning a coveted statue can do big things for a brand, and the maisons do everything in their power to make sure their new releases get on the radar of those who nominate and vote for the awards.
This year, the 25th edition of the awards, French television personality Antoine de Caunes played host, while prominent English luxury journalist Nick Foulkes chaired the Academy and Jury. With 90 timepieces nominated and only 19 winning slots, anticipation ran high as the attendees waited patiently for the winners to be announced. Here are the big winners.
