44 of the Princess of Wales’s Best Royal Rewears to Date
Ever since she first emerged on the public stage as Kate Middleton, Catherine, Princess of Wales has been wearing her outfits on repeat. While it led to her being dubbed “thrifty Kate” in the tabloid press at first, the royal’s practice of shopping from her own wardrobe increasingly sends out a strong message about the importance of sustainability in fashion.
Indeed, in recent months, the royal has been spotted in a series of repeat looks for official engagements. For the 80th anniversary of VE Day in May, she rewore a polka-dot Alessandra Rich dress that she previously sported in 2023, while for the Order the Garter service this week, she brought back out a white two-in-one jacket and skirt by Self-Portrait, which she also wore in May. The Princess is known for digging deep into her archives, too: for a trip to Wales, she revisited a khaki Ralph Lauren jacket that she was first photographed in at the Cheltenham Races back in 2007, during her pre-royal life. To round out 2025, she attended the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham with her family in a brown plaid coat by Blazé Milano, a piece she previously wore while visiting the Royal Marsden Hospital at the beginning of the year.
From designer go-tos such as Alexander McQueen and Catherine Walker to high-street favorites such as Hobbs, Kate Middleton has definitely shown the power of a high-profile rewear over the years. Below, see 44 (and counting) of the Princess’s best repeat outfits to date.
