Arctic League’s “Big Book” opens for 2025 Christmas campaign
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM)— The “Big Book” for the Arctic League’s 2025 Christmas campaign is officially open.
The “Big Book” is a list that records all of the contributions made during the drive. Every dollar goes directly towards purchasing the Christmas gifts for children in need.
“All of the children, whoever is eligible, will get a gift or several gifts this year, and we do encourage people to apply so that they can benefit from this organization,” said Frances Allis, a Board Director.

Along with the campaign’s opening, this year’s bell ringer was announced. Jack Hastrich says he was inspired to apply for the position after knowing some of the bell ringers from past years.
“A couple of my friends were the bell ringers in past years, and I kind of just decided that it would be fun to try to get it,” said Hastrich.
He also added that he likes helping others during the holidays.
“I love being happy and on Christmas especially, and I’m excited to spread that joy to other kids,” said Hastrich.
