Britney Spears’ estranged mother Lynne Spears seemingly extended an olive branch to her daughter, despite their years of strained relations.

On Monday, December 2, Lynne, 69, celebrated Britney’s 43rd birthday with a nostalgic post on Facebook, wishing her daughter well on her special day.

She shared a throwback photo of Britney as a toddler and captioned it, “Happy Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter, Britney! You will always have that beautiful smile!” She added, “Wishing you the happiest birthday ever! ❤️”

Fans loved the sweet photo of the young “Toxic” singer, and left plenty of comments on the post.

“Happy Birthday to Britney 💕 I hope she has the best day!” one fan wished while another noted,”That is such a cute picture!!” A third fan commented, “Happy birthday Brittney -look at that sweet smile.”

Britney spent her birthday in Mexico after she claimed she may potentially move there a few weeks prior in a now deleted Instagram post. On her special day, the songstress shared three videos on Instagram. In one, she mentioned how she’s not turning 43, but “5 years old” and that she has to “go to kindergarten tomorrow.” She also expressed frustration with the paparazzi and showcased a “very, very cute baby cake” gifted by a friend.

Britney’s birthday also coincided with the official release of court documents confirming her legal single status following her divorce from Sam Asghari. Although the couple had been married for 13 months, their marriage ended after meeting in 2016 on the set of Britney’s “Slumber” music video.

As for the mother and daughter’s relationship, a source previously shared with People that Lynne had been making a significant effort to repair their relationship, admitting she had played a role in the rift and was “very apologetic.” They explained, “Her mom does love her. There is no doubt about that.” Despite their complicated relationship, the source added, “Britney likes spending time with Lynne.”

However, the road to reconciliation has not been smooth. Britney’s relationship with her mother hit another setback in May following a public altercation with her then-boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz, which Britney blamed on Lynne.
