Bugatti Unveils Advanced Production Facility for $4 Million Tourbillon Hybrid Hypercar
Bugatti has unveiled a new, state-of-the-art production facility designed specifically for its next-generation hypercar, the $4 million Tourbillon. The French marque’s latest project signals a major step forward in craftsmanship and technology as it prepares to enter a new hybrid era.
The new facility is located within the historic grounds of Château Saint Jean in Molsheim, Bugatti’s home since the 1920s. While the structure is modern in function, its design was intentionally crafted to blend into the surrounding countryside. The long, low-profile building spans 132 meters in length and 25 meters in width, featuring a grass-covered roof and extensive gardens to soften its footprint.
Inside, the Atelier—Bugatti’s name for the production hall—will handle every stage of the Tourbillon’s assembly. Natural light floods the workspace through large windows, creating a comfortable and inspiring environment for the artisans who build each car by hand. The combination of cutting-edge technology and architectural restraint underscores Bugatti’s commitment to both precision and heritage.
The Tourbillon represents the first chapter in Bugatti’s post-Chiron era. It’s also the company’s first hybrid, pairing an all-new 8.4-liter Cosworth-developed V16 engine with three electric motors. Together, they deliver a staggering 1,775 horsepower and 1,464 pound-feet of torque. Despite its extreme output, the Tourbillon offers an estimated 37 miles of all-electric range, adding practicality to its performance credentials.
With production scheduled to begin in 2026, the new facility is central to Bugatti’s evolution under CEO Mate Rimac, whose influence is steering the brand toward innovation without abandoning its roots.
The Tourbillon’s mix of heritage, hybrid technology, and hand-built precision embodies the direction Bugatti intends to take—an intersection of art, engineering, and sustainability, crafted in a facility that reflects the same philosophy.
