BWI Group increases production of advanced MagneRide systems
BWI Group, a supplier of advanced suspension and braking systems, has increased its production capacity for fourth-generation magneto-rheological dampers.
The expansion adds 600,000 units annually, enabling the MagneRide suspension system to be available for approximately two million vehicles in the coming years.
The company has production operations in Poland, Mexico and China.
In a press statement, BWI Group said: “BWI Group’s newly expanded production capacity enables rapid responses to market demands, thereby elevating impact across various segments. Besides, it employed full-process quality monitoring, logistics automation and full value chain digitisation to ensure 0 error and reliability in production.”
BWI Group expects the increased scale to allow car manufacturers to integrate high-performance active suspension systems at a more accessible price point, helping them stay competitive globally.
Referred to as “An active suspension in a passive damper package”, MagneRide systems have been used in various sports and luxury vehicles.
Manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mustang and Cadillac have utilised the technology in several models over the past twenty years, BWI Group said.
The fourth-generation MagneRide system offers features including the ability to adjust damping force 1,000 times per second, operation in extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 105°C, and support for customisable driving modes.
The system is designed to combine active suspension benefits with a compact and low-maintenance design.
Since its introduction in 2002, more than ten million MagneRide dampers have been delivered by BWI Group.
To support consistent and reliable production, the company has implemented automated logistics, quality monitoring, and full value chain digitisation.
