Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Carey Hart opened up about the secret behind his strong marriage to Pink, as the professional racer has been married to the pop star since 2006.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, Hart, 49, provided insight into their relationship dynamic. “I’m at the 19-year mark, so I’m still getting called an idiot,” he said. “I look forward to 35 and I’m no longer an idiot.”
He then shared what keeps him and Pink, 45, able to maintain a healthy marriage. “I guess it’s communication, having a teammate [and] talking through bad situations,” Hart added. “Marriage isn’t easy, and it’s always coming back to the table.”
However, things haven’t always been easy for Hart and Pink (whose real name is Alecia Moore). Although the two first met in 2001 and wed in 2006, they separated from 2008 to 2010. The pop star famously wrote her 2008 hit, “So What,” about their split.
“Everything is a competition, especially with me,” Hart said in his new interview. “We are highly, highly competitive people.”
Following their reconciliation, the couple welcomed their daughter, Willow, in 2011, and their son, Jameson, in 2016. Pink has brought both children with her for special performances recently. Jameson, 7, joined her on stage at her Orlando show in November 2024, where he played the drums. And Willow, 13, accompanied her mom for a sweet duet at the DNC.
“Blown away by Willz how she has evolved on this tour as a performer, singer, and what life will bring her on the stage,” Hart shared on Instagram, before expressing love to Pink for finishing a massive tour. “You have pushed through injury, fatigue, home sickness, illness, mom-ing, and every other diversity you could imagine. I couldn’t be more proud of you. That’s a wrap.”
As for Hart, he is set to appear in season three of the competition series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
