Destination by Hyatt hotel brand to debut in Southeast Asia
Hyatt Hotels has launched its Destination by Hyatt brand in Southeast Asia through a franchise agreement between its affiliate and PT Lombok Torok Developments for Samara Lombok.
This marks an addition to Hyatt’s growing portfolio in Indonesia, which already includes 15 properties across seven brands.
Hyatt Asia Pacific group president David Udell said: “Each property within the Destination by Hyatt brand is individual at heart yet connected by a commitment to embody the true spirit of each location.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with PT Lombok Torok Developments on this hotel and bring guests and World of Hyatt members to the emerging destination of Lombok.”
Lombok is known for its beaches, surfing spots and Mount Rinjani, Indonesia’s second-highest volcano.
Samara Lombok co-founder Stephen Ebsworth said: “Our vision for Samara Lombok has always been to create a destination that goes far beyond conventional luxury. It’s about crafting a place where exceptional design, sport, dining, and exploration come together to deliver truly meaningful guest experiences.
“This agreement with Hyatt allows us to share that vision with a wider global audience, while remaining firmly rooted in the spirit and soul of Lombok.”
Covering more than 300 acres, the Samara Lombok resort will feature Samara Bay and Samara Hills. The site will offer 249 rooms and villas spread across its development.
The project aims to offer a range of amenities, including a wellness village, numerous swimming pools, more than ten dining venues, and various sports facilities.
With construction currently in progress, Samara Lombok is expected to open in 2027.
The Destination by Hyatt brand is known for its collection of independent hotels and resorts, and Hyatt’s portfolio spans more than 1,450 properties in 79 countries.
Last August, Hyatt Hotels announced a management agreement with PT Central Sudirman Development to introduce the first Andaz-branded property in Jakarta, further expanding its presence in Indonesia.
“Destination by Hyatt hotel brand to debut in Southeast Asia” was originally created and published by Hotel Management Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
