Dog fathers stray’s puppies—so owner embarks on mission to save ‘grandpups’

A dog owner was in for a big surprise after her pup fooled around with the neighborhood stray, leaving her with a mission to rescue the litter of little ones.

In a viral post shared on TikTok earlier in May, under the username @alsoknownastheirbarber, the dog’s owner ventures into an old shed in Dallas, Texas, to find the puppies.

She went into the empty, abandoned shack with a torch and a cart, ready to pick them up and take them to safety. In the clip she only shows one of the puppies, eventually she managed to rescue them all, as explained in the caption.

“POV: your son knocked up the neighborhood stray and now you have to go and save your grandpups from the trenches,” says the layover text shared on the clip.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) explains that a normal size litter for dogs can range anywhere from one to 12 puppies with the average usually being around five to six. This varies by breed, and larger dogs usually have larger litters.

The Guinness world record for the largest litter of puppies ever recorded is currently held by Neapolitan Mastiff, Tia, who in 2009 gave birth to 24 puppies, 15 males and nine females.

The Dallas video quickly went viral on social media, and on TikTok it has so far received more than 1.4 million views and 91,900 likes.

One user, Punkininnature, commented: “But how you know they’re his? Has he confirmed paternity. You know she fair play.”

Vanessa said: “I just wanted to say I am now a faithful follower! People are so cruel but I think what you are doing for those puppies and the mama dog is just absolutely wonderful. Glad you got your boy fixed too.”

Kimmie’s crafts wrote: “Well I hope you brought momma home with her babies after all she’s your daughter-in-law now. give love to all.!

Skinny Foodie added: “This is what they know but I was so happy to see the lil pups face emerge. Life is about to get a lot better for them.”
