Exclusive: Mutant Football League 2 predicts the Super Bowl winner
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Yesterday, Newsweek was able to exclusively reveal that the arcade football game Mutant Football League 2 would be coming to Xbox Game Preview — and it’s available right now. With the Super Bowl set to take place this weekend, developer Digital Dreams Entertainment is getting in the spirit of things with a simulation of a football match that might sound very familiar.

The results of Mutant Football League 2’s official simulation of the Mayhem Bowl LIX are in, with the Karcass City Creeps having faced off against the Killadelphia Evils in the big game. Newsweek can reveal that, according to the 30-minute simulation, which can be watched on YouTube, the Karcass City Creeps are set to win the Mayhem Bowl, defeating the Killadelphia Evils 34-28.
The simulated match saw quarterback Hatrick Myhomies lead the Creeps to victory in a game that went into overtime, with the Wailen Hurtz-led Evils taking an early lead before ultimately falling to the Creeps. There were a few questionable calls from the refs, too, which certainly helped clinch the game for the Creeps.
It’s all very tongue-in-cheek and silly, and it fits in perfectly with the tone of the game. You can watch the highlights in the video at the top of this article.

You’ll notice that a lot of the names in the simulation are very similar to real teams and players set to compete in the NFL‘s Super Bowl this Sunday, and that’s not a coincidence. While it doesn’t guarantee that the Chiefs will take the game on Sunday, Mutant Football League does have a pretty solid track record of predicting the Mayhem Bowl with results shockingly accurate to the results of the Super Bowl.
Mutant Football League is available now in Early Access on Steam and, as of this morning, on Xbox Series X|S via the Xbox Game Preview program. Players can pick up the game for a reduced price of $24.99 – a $5 discount – ahead of its full release in Fall 2025.
