A new addition to the world first imagined by James Wong in 2000 is coming to theaters this year with Final Destination: Bloodlines set to hit the big screen this spring, making it the sixth film in the franchise, this time helmed by Freaksdirectors Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.

There hasn’t been a new Final Destination film since 2011, when Steven Quale brought us Final Destination 5, which follows “Death” who returns to claim the survivors of a deadly bridge collapse.

The fifth installment starred Nicholas D’Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Ellen Wroe, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, P.J. Byrne, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner, Courtney B. Vance, and Tony Todd and scored 63% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the best-reviewed film in the franchise.

Now we have Final Destination: Bloodlines on the way, making it the first film in the franchise in over 14 years and will star Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Anna Lore, Owen Patrick Joyner, Max Lloyd-Jones, Rya Kihlstedt, Tinpo Lee, with Tony Todd rumored to return as William Bludworth.

Plot details are under wraps, but the film will be penned by Guy Busick, whose previous credits include recent horror hits like Ready or Not, Scream (2022), Scream VI, and Abigail. Busick will co-write with Lori Evans Taylor.

Final Destination: Bloodlines will hit theaters on May 16, 2025, and will get a stint in IMAX, as per Lipovsky.
