Flight to Seoul diverted to Munich after pilots smell burning
An Air France flight from Paris to Seoul was diverted to Munich on Sunday after a burning smell was detected in the cockpit, the airline said.
The aircraft landed in Munich in the early evening, according to the airport. The crew chose to land as a precaution, the airline said, adding that the cause of the burning smell was not yet clear.
A spokeswoman for the airport said the aircraft was towed away after landing. There were no injuries among passengers, who were taken into the terminal, where terminal staff and airline employees looked after them.
According to the airline, a return flight to Paris was planned later in the evening. If necessary, accommodation would be provided there for passengers. The airline could not say when a replacement flight to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, would follow.
