Fmr. Navy cmdr. Marom: Israel should begin Gaza reconstruction, even before last hostage returns

“Instead of saying ‘no, no, no’ to the clauses, Israel should say ‘yes,’ and then specify what needs to be done,” Marom told Ynet.

Former commander of the Israeli Navy, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Eliezer “Chayni” Marom, said Israel should commence Gaza reconstruction east of the Yellow Line, even before the return of the remains of Ran Gvili, in a Thursday interview with Ynet.

“Instead of saying ‘no, no, no’ to the clauses, Israel should say ‘yes,’ and then specify what needs to be done,” he told the outlet. “The solution is to take the area from the Yellow Line eastward to the perimeter, and begin a rehabilitation process there together with the Americans, even before Ran Gvili returns.”

In addition to being the former commander of the navy, Marom is the project manager for the rehabilitation of the North.

This is a developing story.
