French officials suspect terrorist motive in stabbing that killed one
Anti-terrorism prosecutors have taken over investigations following a stabbing incident in Mulhouse on Saturday in which one person was killed, the anti-terrorism prosecutors said.
The attack, which also injured two people – one seriously – occurred on Saturday afternoon at a market in Alsace, in eastern France, a police spokesman said.
The alleged perpetrator has been detained. Police said he had attacked people with a knife in the afternoon. No further information about the man was initially available.
French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau was scheduled to travel to the eastern French city on Saturday evening.
