Within its overall simplicity, Freya Dalsjø’s fall collection ranged from monastic elegance to a more passionate and organic sensibility. Believing in slow fashion, the Danish designer, who last season returned to the runway after a long absence, carried over a large swath of spring’s offering for fall. “I think for me it’s about developing shapes that go through the whole year, that go through the change of seasons that you can layer and wear. So a lot of it is sort of a base collection that is then added to each season,” she said on a walk-through. Restyled and combined with new pieces, they don’t read as repeats. In truth, we need more of this kind of thinking in fashion. There is hardly time to register, much less absorb, so much of what we see. 

Dalsjø continued to work with double-face wool, using it to create two-in-one coats. Feathers bobbed from pieces that were otherwise streamlined. The idea of wrapping oneself in a piece of fabric and letting the edges fold over, so prevalent last spring, was applied here to an angelic dress, its texture created by hand-woven silk threads.
