From the Operating Room to Children’s Bookshelves: Dr. Rachel Wellner’s Journey of Healing and Teaching

Dr. Rachel Wellner is a distinguished Board-Certified general surgeon, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a breast oncology surgeon trained by the Society of Surgical Oncology. Her impressive academic credentials include an MD and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University, highlighting her deep commitment to global health and public welfare. As an undergraduate at Dartmouth College and throughout her career, Dr. Wellner initiated several medical missions in underserved regions in Central America and other parts of the developing world.

Recently, Dr. Wellner embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by founding CaelumDiagnostic Solutions, Inc. This innovative start-up is dedicated to revolutionize cancer diagnostics by rendering point-of-care digital biopsy results in five minutes. Prior to this venture, she contributed her expertise as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Care, where she was deeply involved in bothteaching and clinical practice. She has started several breast centers in the New York Metropolitan area and served as Director.

Beyond her medical career, Dr. Wellner is passionate about educating the younger generation on health topics through her creative literary work.
