Hamas claims it discovered the remains of two hostages during Gaza excavations
Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades named the two hostages’ remains that it found in the Tuesday announcement.
Hamas claimed that it uncovered the remains of two hostages during excavations in Gaza City on Tuesday evening.
Hamas’s al-Qassam Brigades claimed that it found the bodies of two hostages and named them in the announcement.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum has not responded to the claim at the time of publication.
This comes after the IDF published footage of Hamas reburial and staged discovery of slain hostage Ofir Tzarfati’s remains on Tuesday.
The video, filmed by an IDF drone that had been in the area, shows Hamas members placing Tzarfati’s remains in a freshly dug hole before covering the remains with dirt.

They then proceeded to “dig” up the remains and called over members of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to witness the discovery.
ICRC slams staged discovery as ‘unacceptable’
The ICRC then called the staged discovery “unacceptable” in a Tuesday statement.
“It is unacceptable that a staged recovery of hostages has occurred, especially when so much depends on the existence of this agreement and so many families are still anxiously waiting for information about their loved ones,” the ICRC statement read.
“The return of remains to loved ones must not be politicized.”
This comes as the Prime Minister’s Office said that the IDF struck infrastructure Hamas was using in southern Gaza after members of the terrorist group fired at soldiers in violation of the current ceasefire.
