How to Watch the 2024 New Yorker Festival


The 2024 New Yorker Festival is nearly here. For the twenty-fifth year, leading artists, actors, writers, politicians, and thinkers will gather for a dynamic weekend of conversations, performances, and more in New York City, hosted by the magazine’s writers and editors. A small number of tickets remain to attend in person, and now there’s another way to enjoy the Festival: by streaming select events live or watching them on demand afterward.

On Saturday, October 26th, and Sunday, October 27th, viewers can tune in on this page to see a variety of programs live.

Saturday, October 26th

  • 10 A.M.: A live taping of the Political Scene podcast, where the New Yorker staff writers Susan B. Glasser, Jane Mayer, and Evan Osnos will be joined by the historian Michael Beschloss to discuss the Presidential election and the future of American politics
  • 12:30 P.M.: The comedians Bridget Everett and Amy Sedaris speak with the New Yorker television critic Inkoo Kang
  • 3 P.M.: the former U.S. representative and author Liz Cheney speaks with The New Yorker’s editor, David Remnick
  • 5:30 P.M.: “Digital Culture Wars,” featuring a conversation between the writer Naomi Klein and the New Yorker staff writers Kyle Chayka, Andrew Marantz, and Jia Tolentino
  • 8 P.M.: the singer, songwriter, actor, and author Sara Bareilles speaks with the New Yorker staff writer Rachel Syme

Sunday, October 27th

  • 10 A.M.: “How to Live Longer,” a conversation between Atul Gawande, a former surgeon and New Yorker staff writer and the current assistant administrator for global health at the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the New Yorker contributing writer Dhruv Khullar
  • 12:30 P.M.: a live taping of the Critics at Large podcast, where the writer and actor Julio Torres will speak with the New Yorker staff writers Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz
  • 3 P.M.: the MSNBC host and author Rachel Maddow speaks with The New Yorker’s editor, David Remnick
