Indianapolis Raceway Park’s Future Brightens with Massive Sponsorship Renew

Lucas Oil’s longstanding relationship with Indianapolis Raceway Park has taken a solid stride forward with a newly secured long-term sponsorship agreement. This extension promises continued financial and promotional backing for the storied racetrack, ensuring its sustained prominence in motorsport.

Announced recently via Drag Illustrated, this development proves Lucas Oil’s ongoing commitment to supporting one of America’s most iconic racing venues. The park, known for hosting the esteemed Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals and a myriad of other events, is set for a big future.

Indianapolis Raceway Park holds a venerated place in motorsport history. Established in the late 1950s and officially opened in 1960, the venue quickly became known as a leading facility for multiple types of racing events. Over the decades, it has welcomed celebrated achievements such as Mario Andretti’s first USAC National Championship win and has hosted numerous high-profile races across various leagues, including NASCAR events and USAC competitions.

The park’s versatility, with its quarter-mile drag strip and .686-mile oval, makes it an attractive hub for motorsports enthusiasts and serves over 170 days of track activity each year.

Under the new partnership agreement, Lucas Oil will see its branding prominently displayed across the facility, solidifying its association with the venue. The deal includes signage placements on the drag strip and oval tracks. Further solidifying its commitment, Lucas Oil has promised to introduce promotional discounts for the events held at the park, thereby adding value for both fans and racers.

Brandon Bernstein, Lucas Oil’s Director of Partnership Marketing, captured the excitement surrounding this renewed commitment.

“It has been a huge thrill for Lucas Oil to be the title sponsor of an iconic track like Indianapolis Raceway Park for so many years, and we’re proud to announce this new, long-term extension,” he said.

The agreement comes in conjunction with significant development plans for the park itself. Currently, the park is undergoing a multi-phase development initiative aimed at upgrading its facilities and elevating visitor experience. Among these improvements is the planned construction of the Wally Parks Tower, scheduled for completion by the 2025 Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals. This new three-story edifice will boast race control, a media center, and television broadcasting capabilities, alongside luxury suites geared towards improving the spectator experience. Additional upgrades include renovated VIP suites, a new entrance for fans, and repositioning of the professional pits to improve accessibility and operations.

Kasey Coler, NHRA Vice President of Track Management and Operations, expressed strong support for the collaboration.

“We’re thrilled to have Lucas Oil continue as the title sponsor of Indianapolis Raceway Park and continue this incredible partnership. They’ve been a terrific sponsor for so many years and have always shown a strong commitment to the facility. Based on their investment and NHRA’s re-investment into the track, we look forward to the future and making the facility and the Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals a preeminent destination and event for years to come.”

Lucas Oil’s involvement with the Raceway Park mirrors its extensive engagement with the motorsports industry at large. As a globally recognized leader in high-performance automotive additives and lubricants, Lucas Oil’s portfolio includes sponsorships and partnerships with major motorsports teams and events.

Bernstein concluded: “This has been a tremendous relationship, and it means a great deal for Lucas Oil to be associated with the track and all of the amazing events that take place there. The future of the park is looking incredibly bright, with new plans in place that will keep Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park as one of the premier motorsports and NHRA drag racing facilities in the country.”
