Israeli Defence Minister Gallant: Population must show composure

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday that the steadfastness of the Israeli civilian population was key to the successful continuation of the fight against the Iranian-backed Lebanese Hezbollah militia.

“We are intensifying our attacks in Lebanon,” Gallant said during a consultation regarding the further escalation in the conflict with Hezbollah.

He stated that this would continue until Israel achieved the goal of ensuring the safe return to their homes of the residents of its northern section.

“We have days ahead where the public must show composure, discipline and full compliance with the instructions of the home front,” said Gallant.

He added that lives were saved during attacks from Lebanon because people in Israel had moved into shelters.
