Kylie Jenner Gives “Jeans and a Nice Top” a Festive Twist
This week, celebrities embraced festive style: Sofia Richie Grainge in cozy maternity chic, Katie Holmes in pumpkin spice tones, Jessie Buckley’s suite of enviable outerwear. For Kylie Jenner, holiday dressing comes with a ’90s twist.
Jenner stepped out yesterday evening (December 5) in West Hollywood for a Chrome Hearts party, dipping into the vintage archives to wear a bright red, cropped longsleeve leather jacket. The 1997 fall winter Gucci top clung close to the body, and featured a plunging neckline with the zipper open to the ribcage. Jenner added a pair of low-rise dark indigo jeans, a black clutch bag, and black thong heels.
It was a textbook look for Kylie Jenner: like her sisters and pals (Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid, et al) she has a penchant for Tom Ford-era Gucci, and low-rise trousers are a silhouette she’s kept in her back pocket. The late ’90s and Y2K fashion remains a go-to—the “jeans and a nice top” outfit formula is hard to beat, especially in party season. As well, that sexier silhouette she’s come to love—just this time, Jenner zhuzhed it all up with a pop of Christmassy red.
