Kylie Kelce reacts to dethroning Joe Rogan on podcast charts

Kylie Kelce’s new podcast, Not Gonna Lie, didn’t just make a splash — it caused a tsunami that knocked podcast king Joe Rogan out of the top spot.

But for Kylie — who was “dragged into fame,” as The New York Times describes it, especially after her brother-in-law Travis Kelce began dating Taylor Swift in 2023 — she’s not necessarily looking to be No.1. Still, beating out Rogan, 57, does have its perks, she acknowledged.

“I couldn’t care less about the charts,” the 32-year-old mother of three, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child, told The New York Times in an interview published Thursday, December 19. But the backlash from the online nay-sayers, the critics, and the haters?

“That’s getting me going,” she quipped.

Kylie, who has been married to retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce since 2018, would occasionally appear on Jason and Travis’ New Heights podcast — but she was inspired to “control the narrative” once her fame skyrocketed in the shadow of Travis’ romance with Swift.

“When I said ‘I prefer to be behind the scenes,’ I very much meant that… I don’t like attention on me,” Kylie told listeners on the debut episode of Not Gonna Lie, which was released on December 5. “So the last two years have forced me to turn it into a positive, to figure out how to control the narrative, and to embrace it. And I think that perfectly sums up why we’re here.”

For Kylie, Not Gonna Lie is all about being relatable to her listeners, noting to The Times that every episode is around 45 minutes in favor of “prioritizing the timeline of busy women.” (For comparison, Rogan’s episodes are about 2 to 3 hours each, while New Heights is between an hour and an hour-and-a-half.

“I’m focused on putting out content that people like to consume,” she emphasized. “If that puts us there [at the top of the charts] for a week, cool. If it puts us there for longer than that, cool. But I also don’t need to feed any conflict that’s created by it.”

Ultimately, Kylie is all about keeping it real.

“Maybe it’s the promise that you’re not going to get lied to,” she said about the instant success of the pod.

A new episode of Not Gonna Lie comes out every Thursday; the first three episodes are all available to stream.
