Low temperatures in the single digits tonight & a mild weekend forecast
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM)- An arctic cold front passed through the twin tiers this afternoon, causing very frigid temperatures to persist through the evening and overnight. As the cold air mass settles tonight, temperatures will drop near 6 degrees, with feel like temperatures getting near sub-zero.
By Friday morning, temperatures will likely still be in the single digits until around 9 a.m. Skies will remain partly sunny tomorrow, with high temperatures near 27 degrees. Winds shift from the south by Saturday, allowing temperatures to climb back into the upper thirties. Skies will be mostly cloudy for Sparkle and Dickens of a Christmas. Light snow looks to return by Sunday evening
