Lufthansa Group extends flight stop to Tel Aviv, Beirut and Tehran
Europe’s Lufthansa Group airlines will not resume flights to Israel, Lebanon or Iran in the near future and have cancelled additional scheduled connections because of the growing conflict in the Middle East.
German carrier Lufthansa and its subsidiary airlines cancelled flights through Tel Aviv through October 31, and flights through Beirut up to November 30, the airline announced on Tuesday.
Flights to Tehran will also be suspended until October 14.
The core brand Lufthansa Airline had already decided to suspend flights to Tehran up to and including October 26. The Lufthansa Group also includes SWISS, Austrian and Brussels Airlines as well as Eurowings.
Affected passengers can rebook to a later travel date free of charge or receive a refund of the ticket price.
Due to the tense security situation, Lufthansa has repeatedly extended flight stops to the Middle East recently.
With the recently launched Israeli ground offensive in Lebanon against the Hezbollah militia, the situation in the region continues to escalate.
