Over 20 killed in latest Israeli attacks in Gaza, Palestinians report
At least 20 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip since the early hours of the morning, Palestinian reports said on Sunday.
Medical sources reported at least 21 dead, while Palestinian news agency WAFA, also citing medical sources, said 27 people were killed in the latest attacks.
Ten people alone were killed in the bombing of a family home in Nuseirat, central Gaza, WAFA reported, without providing further details on the identities of the victims.
The al-Awda Hospital in northern Gaza reported an Israeli airstrike on a water distribution site in Nuseirat in the morning, killing eight people, including six minors.
At least 16 people were injured in the attack, according to the hospital. WAFA, citing the hospital, reported of at least 10 killed in the strike.
The Israeli military said upon request it was looking into the reports. The army has repeatedly stressed its attacks target Palestinian extremist organization Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza, claiming it is taking measures to protect civilians.
WAFA also reported casualties from Israeli attacks in northern and southern Gaza. It is not possible to independently verify the reports by either side as Israel does not allow foreign journalists into the war-torn, sealed-off coastal strip.
