Pet Cam captures plumber saving tiny, escaped puppy: “Man like this please”

While working at a client’s house, a plumber from the United Kingdom noticed one of their puppies escaping, so he stopped it and placed it right back in its crate. Now internet users are praising his kindness.

The viral clip, shared on TikTok on Saturday by the puppies’ owner, under the username @karlsim1, shows the plumber lifting the three-week-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel and putting it back into its crate, before stopping to pet the mom, Darcey, who clearly seems to enjoy the sweet interaction.

“When our plumber saves the day and helps not with just plumbing but our wee escaped pup,” reads layover text in the clip.

Dog crating is still a debated topic among pet owners, and while some believe that leaving your pup in a crate while you’re out is cruel, others think it’s a practical way to keep them safe while nobody is watching them.

Owners who use crates, are advised not to leave their pups for more than eight hours straight, according to a Dogster article medically reviewed by Dr. Alice Athow-Frost, although some say that four is already too much.

Puppies have even less crate tolerance, and shouldn’t spend more than 30 to 60 minutes at a time in there.

While it may not be ideal for some, crating your dog while you’re out can help prevent accidents and injuries.

Dr. Jess Kirk says in an article by Vet Explains Pets that because they are den animals, dogs often feel secure and comforted in a crate while you’re away. However, dogs left in there for too long may experience separation anxiety.

Not all dogs can be crated, and if during crate training your pup looks distressed or tries to escape, you should consider alternatives and seek help from your veterinarian or a qualified animal behavior expert.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 770,000 views and 63,500 likes on the platform.

One user, Haleyh555, commented: “He’s better than me. One would be in my pocket before leaving.”

Reblou31 said: “I would be useless because I wouldn’t do any of the plumbing work and spend all day with the babies instead.”

Autumn Jean Darragh added: “You can tell he is a good person, momma dog’s aren’t that trusting with just anyone, he was so gentle with momma and baby.”
