Post-Met Gala, Sydney Sweeney Picks up Her New Favorite Accessory—Her Dog
Sydney Sweeney had a sparkly evening on the steps of the Met—dressed in a glitzy black Miu Miu dress for the 2025 Met Gala, her look paid homage to classic Hollywood screen icon Kim Novak, who she will soon play in a forthcoming biopic.
The dress, which features a close circular neckline and opulent brooch detail, was a direct reference to Novak’s costume in Robert Aldrich’s 1967 film The Demon of Women. Met Gala co-chair and recent Vogue cover star Colman Domingo will direct Sydney Sweeney in the role, as his own directorial debut. While not necessarily an outfit choice that was directly in dialogue with the night’s “tailored for you” theme, there was some link there.
While it seems Sweeney forwent any after-parties this year (unlike some of her peers and friends, who hit up some of the dozens of soirees happening after they exited the Met), she had other things on her mind. Photographed late in the evening outside celebrity haunt and bolthole, The Carlyle Hotel, Sweeney had donned an oversized white suit, with puddle trousers and a big shouldered blazer. On her feet, she wore black platform peep-toes, with white socks peeking out. She also wore black oval sunglasses, and had changed her hair into a gelled down bun with tiny swirls of curls slick to her forehead. But the finishing touch to her look? Her new pooch.
