Princess Charlotte and Princess Kate’s balcony moment goes viral
Princess Kate was seen playing with Princess Charlotte‘s hair as mother and daughter watched Trooping the Colour together.
King Charles III’s birthday parade was Kate’s big comeback moment after six months out of the public eye with cancer.
And she watched the Royal Air Force fly past stood right behind her daughter, who was also appearing in public for the first time in 2024.

The accompanying video showed Kate playing with Charlotte’s hair and giving her a supportive rub of the shoulders alongside Prince William and Prince Louis, moments before the Wales family left the balcony at the end of the Trooping.
Another clip was viewed almost 190,000 times and liked 19,000 times after it was posted on TikTok with the message: “Princess Charlotte sitting on mummy’s knee watching #troopingthecolour2024.”
One reply read: “she is a princess but she only a child and she has need of her mother,” while another user wrote: “Even though she is tired. I love and respect her so much.”
Kate broke the news she was going to make her first public appearance of 2024 on Friday when she told fans she might be seen again over the summer, though she will judge each event on a case-by-case basis.
She said: “I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.
“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.”
And a Kensington Palace aide said: “The Prince is pleased to see The Princess starting to engage with the work and projects that are important to her. He will continue to focus his time on supporting his wife and children, while continuing to undertake his public duties.”
