SNAP July payment dates for each state
SNAP benefits will be issued throughout July, but the monthly food benefit won’t be paid on the same day for every claimant throughout the U.S.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) pays out monthly amounts to low and no-income households across all 50 states, Washington D.C. and overseas territories. Benefits are loaded onto electronic benefit transfer cards, which can be spent in participating grocery and general stores.
SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, are funded by the federal government, but each state manages and distributes them to its residents. This is why not all claimants are paid on the same date every month.
Some states pay out amounts depending on a claimant’s case number. For example, in California, if a case number ends in 01, that recipient will get their benefits earlier in the month than those who have a case number ending in 99. Other states pay according to the first letter of your last name, such as Connecticut and Delaware, and some, like Alaska or South Dakota send out all SNAP payments on the same day.

Not every recipient is paid the same amount as the food benefit is means-tested, with how much you get being dependent on the household’s income and how many people live there. For a family of four people, the estimated average monthly amount is $713 for 2024, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP).
