The Adidas Samba Is Jumping on the Snakeskin Sneaker Trend
The brand’s classic three stripes hit the sides, while shiny gold lettering is stamped across the lateral panel. Adidas’s Trefoil logo shows up on the tongue tag, and the trainer then rests on top of a gum rubber sole—the same one that’s been on this silhouette since 1949.
And yes, the maroon newcomer isn’t the only sneaker that’s been going snakey as of late. Adidas and Wales Bonner just dropped a reptilian Superstar sneaker as part of their very appropriately named “Croc Snakeskin” collection. And over on Team Swoosh, the culty Nike Total 90 III recently got a scaled-out makeover too. Even New Balance is hopping on the trend with a faux snakeskin loafer…!
The Adidas Samba OG “Maroon Python” is set to release within the coming weeks at Adidas, the Confirmed app, and select stockists globally.
