The Fantastic Four: First Steps Film Set Discovered by Urban Explorers
Urban explorers poking around an abandoned salt mine in the UK have seemingly discovered a film set from The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Posting a video on the YouTube channel UnBoxPHD, which has previously shared behind-the-scenes videos from the sets of Bridgerton season 4 and The Running Man remake, we see a group of people walking around a huge cavern with torches.
There are floodlights, power generators, scaffolding, and weirdly, a full-sized, ’60s-era bus painted in the colours of The Fantastic Four.
It’s not clear whether this is a marketing stunt with the backing of Marvel, or if the channel really did stumble upon the film set, but there’s been no comment by Marvel on the video yet. Filming has just wrapped on The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which means it’s possible Marvel left remnants from the set behind with the aim of removing them later.
The location itself, taken at face value, points to the existence of a long-rumored villain: Mole Man. A recurring foe, Mole Man lives deep underground, spending his time coming up with schemes to try and rule the Earth’s surface with the aid of his army of mole-human hybrids. According to rumors, Paul Walter Hauser plays Mole Man.
You can see the Fantastic Four battle Mole Man (or not, as the case may be) when The Fantastic Four: First Steps releases 25 July 2025.
