Thomas Matthew Crooks’ neighbors evacuated as police swarm shooter’s home
Following a shooting that injured former President Donald Trump at Saturday’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, law enforcement officials have evacuated neighbors around the home of the identified shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, on Sunday, according to CBS News.

The former president was escorted offstage during the campaign rally on Saturday afternoon after shots were heard minutes into his speech. The Associated Press later reported that the shooter was dead and a rally attendee was killed.
Television cameras showed Trump speaking in front of a wall of supporters before multiple shots rang out. The former president was then seen grabbing his right ear and ducking before he was surrounded by Secret Service agents.
The shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt.
What We Know
The suspected gunman, now identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as 20-year-old Crooks, was shot and killed by the Secret Service.
On Sunday morning, law enforcement swarmed a home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, believed to be connected to Crooks. According to CBS News, the road to the home, which is located on Milford Drive, was shutdown and neighbors have been evacuated.
Police evacuated one neighbor in the middle of the night who lives only a few homes down the road from the gunman. She was told noon on Sunday was the earliest she could be allowed back into her home, CBS News reported.
