This solid hunk of gleaming precious metal immediately caught the attention of Rolex aficionados the world over when it was launched in 2023. There are a few notable design features that really take this piece over the edge:
First, take a good look at that icy blue dial. That exact shade is one that Rolex only ever pairs with platinum cases, and is the type of luxurious IYKYK signifier collectors love
Second is the red “Daytona” text bestowed on special (and very collectible) versions of the Daytona
Lastly, Holland’s watch carries an even more alluring distinction: Rather than the standard applied indices, his piece has diamond-set indices consisting of 11 precious stones. (The 12 o’clock index is formed by the applied Rolex coronet.)

Otherwise, this watch carries all the hallmarks of a classic Daytona. The reference 126506 is housed in a 40-mm Oyster case with screw-down pushers and a brown Cerahcrom tachymeter bezel, with chocolatey rings around the sundial. Powered by the automatic, in-house Rolex Calibre 4131 with 72 hours of power reserve and paired to a platinum Oyster bracelet with signature three-piece links, the ref. 126506 is a heavy watch. It clocks in at 200-plus grams due to its 950 platinum construction. This is a piece that announces itself both visually as well as physically: There’s no mistaking that dial, and there’s no mistaking that weight. (The white metal and ice-blue coloration, however, do mean that it wears well with a wide variety of fits.)
Serially produced Platinum Daytonas have been around since 2013, when the Crown introduced the ref. 116506 in time for the model’s 50th anniversary. Holland’s ref. 126506 was launched exactly 10 years later and was meant to celebrate the model’s 60th birthday. Though there were a tiny handful of unique platinum Daytonas made before 2013, these weren’t produced for public consumption—indeed, if you wanted one, you sort of had to run Rolex. (As in, the company.) These days, Rolex makes both catalog and off-catalog references—though you’ll need quite a bit of both cash and cachet in order to secure an allocation.
Holland, of course, is in good company with this watch, as plenty of other celebs love ‘em: There’s Tom Cruise and Drake, who have the previous generation with a non-diamond dial as well as Carlos Alcaraz, whose non-catalog version features a stunning diamond-set bezel and Eastern Arabic dial unique the Middle Eastern market. Holland himself is also a watch guy, and he clearly favors special Rolexes (as well as other cool stuff): He wore the “Celebration” dial OP on camera, and he’s also been spotted in a TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox, a Cartier Tank Américaine, a Piaget Altiplano Skeleton, and more. For a fairly young dude, he’s got quite a far-ranging collection. Still, this Rolex Daytona is arguably one of its crown jewels.
