Ukraine hit by Russian drone and missile attack
Despite ongoing talks on a peace solution, Russia again carried out airstrikes on Ukraine overnight, local media reported early on Sunday.
The central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk in the Poltava region was reportedly attacked with dozens of drones and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force said, according to the RBC-Ukraine news agency. Explosions were heard in the city, and residents reported disruptions to electricity and heating.
No official figures on casualties or the extent of the damage were immediately available, and the reports could not be independently verified.

Earlier, overnight into Saturday, another large-scale Russian airstrike hit Ukraine’s power grid, causing injuries and emergency power outages in several regions. President Volodymyr Zelensky again accused Moscow of attacking civilian infrastructure.
The US-based CSIS institute estimated the attack involved about 653 drones and 51 missiles and cruise missiles, making it likely the third-largest aerial assault of the war.
