Algeria: Petkovic clarifies objectives for AFCON 2025

During the press conference dedicated to announcing his squad for AFCON 2025, Vladimir Petkovic did more than just detail his selections. The national team coach also took the opportunity to clarify Algeria’s ambitions for this continental tournament, which will be held in Morocco amid sky-high public expectations.

Fully aware of recent setbacks, the Swiss-Bosnian tactician struck a measured tone, steering clear of grand declarations.

“The main objective at AFCON is to reach the second round, with of course the intention to go as far as possible,” he stated, embracing a step-by-step approach.
