Wendy’s agrees to open 190 restaurants in Italy and Armenia
The Wendy’s Company has signed two franchise agreements that will lead to the establishment of 190 new restaurants in Italy and Armenia.
In Italy, Wendy’s has partnered with Your Food to open 170 new restaurants by 2035. The initial two locations are scheduled to launch in Milan in mid-2026.
Your Food chairman Mario Resca stated: “We are incredibly proud to partner with Wendy’s to bring its iconic brand and fresh, high-quality food to Italy.
“This marks an exciting chapter as we introduce a new quick service restaurant standard that combines bold innovation, exceptional hospitality and a deep appreciation for the tastes and preferences of Italian consumers.
“We look forward to creating a fresh customer experience and becoming a beloved part of the Italian food scene.”
In Armenia, the company has agreed with Wen Restaurant to develop 20 new locations by 2030. The first will be situated in the city centre of Yerevan.
The agreements support Wendy’s aim of achieving 70% of its growth outside the US, with a target of reaching 2,000 international locations by 2028.
The Wendy’s Company International president EJ Wunsch stated: “These agreements are yet another example of the success of our accelerated growth strategy. With each new partnership, our momentum increases. And the best is yet to come.
“Wendy’s has never been better positioned to scale internationally, and we are proud to partner with Your Food and Wen Restaurant. Together, we will bring our fresh, famous food and world-class hospitality to communities all across Italy and Armenia.
“With the strength of the Wendy’s brand and the local expertise of our new partners, we will build high-performing restaurants that reflect our ‘globally great, locally even better’ mindset.”
In early July 2025, Wendy’s announced that its president and CEO Kirk Tanner had decided to step down from his role.
“Wendy’s agrees to open 190 restaurants in Italy and Armenia” was originally created and published by Verdict Food Service, a GlobalData owned brand.
