Woman films Christmas house tour—can’t cope with what her dog is doing
A woman attempted to record a tour of her festive home, only to discover her dog engrossed in a Christmas movie, melting hearts across the internet.
Joelle Snook (@newbuildtohome) shared video footage of her beautifully decorated home, from the hallway into the lounge, where she found her dog, Arthur, a two-year-old golden retriever, transfixed on the movie Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure.
“He absolutely loves watching TV, especially if it features other dogs or animals. Although, he’s not keen on Scar from The Lion King and will not stop barking at the TV when he comes on,” Snook told Newsweek. “So I wasn’t surprised at all to find him in his favourite spot watching the movie when I filmed, he was so engrossed he didn’t even pay any attention to my coming in to the room.”
After showcasing her impressive Christmas trees and matching wreaths, along with ornate holly garlands hung on the walls, Snook approached Arthur.
The golden retriever lounged on the couch, staring intently at the animated movie.
Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure follows a beloved St. Bernard, Beethoven, as he embarks on a holiday rescue mission.
In the story, Beethoven helps an elf recover Santa’s stolen sleigh and Christmas bag to save the holiday spirit.
Golden retrievers, like Arthur, are known for their friendly and affectionate nature. According to the American Kennel Club, the breed is one of the most popular in the United States, admired for their intelligence, loyalty and gentle demeanor, making them excellent companions.
Snook added: “He’s a gorgeous boy, a typical nutty golden retriever (that doesn’t actually ‘retrieve’ anything) but is just full of love and can’t ever greet you without a present in his mouth—which will be the closest thing he can find on the floor.”
Social media users were obsessed with the adorable scene and Arthur’s sweet nature.
“Can you tell him I said he’s a good boy,” said Chloe.
“Everything about this is PERFECT and stunning,” said another viewer.
“Looks like a beautiful and cosy movie scene, you are so blessed,” commented another user.
“This melted me,” added someone else. “I mean – this is perfect,” added Lynda.
