Woman rescues kitten, has surprising realization while packing for vacation
A woman revealed her surprise after she packed more things for her kitten’s overnight stay than for her own trip.
The new cat mom (@thotsbefore30) unexpectedly adopted an orange kitten she found in a bush four days ago and already had a family trip planned.
“I didn’t expect to find a kitten in a bush four days ago, so I already had a trip plan to go see some family, and I’m leaving little Cheddar boy.
“So let’s pack all this stuff,” the cat mom shared in a TikTok video which garnered 13,800 likes and 143,100 views.
The mom was taken aback by the amount of things her six-week-old kitten needed for a sleepover.
“How have I packed more for a kitten than I packed for myself,” she shared on the video’s caption.
The mom clutched her kitten as she revealed all the things Cheddar needed for his overnight stay, including: food, ear wipes, ear pain medication, food and water bowls and safe cleaning wipes.
“Homie can get a little crazy with the litter box sometimes,” the cat mom joked.
She also packed a flea brush. Cheddar has been treated but the owner admitted there were still a few lingering stragglers that appeared from time to time, so she brushes his coat twice a day.
Finally, the pet owner packed the most important items – his bed and toys.
The final clip showed the kitten in the car on his way for his first sleepover.
“I’m gonna miss you. You’re gonna be good, though,” the owner said as she lovingly kissed her fur baby goodbye.
Preparing your cat for an overnight stay involves ensuring they have everything they need to feel comfortable and secure.
According to Cats Protection, it’s crucial to pack familiar items like their bed and toys, as well as any necessary medications and food.
Owners should provide detailed feeding instructions and any behavioral quirks to the sitter. Ensuring your cat has access to their usual litter box and food can help reduce stress.
Familiar smells and routines can help cats adjust more easily to a temporary environment.

Viewers were impressed by the new cat mom’s preparation, but she admitted leaving him behind wasn’t easy.
“It sure didn’t take Cheddar long to win your heart over gain his furever home. He loves you as much as you love him,” said Deb.
“Such a good cat mommy,” said Wendy Lee. “Damn you are an amazing kitty mom,” said another user.
“I’ve thought about him my entire travel day so I’d say I’m glad he’s joined the family,” the cat owner admitted.
