Zamir ahead of Qatar strike: ‘We are closing a moral, ethical account in name of Oct. 7 victims’
“These are the terrorists whose sole aspiration was to be at the forefront of destroying the State of Israel,” Zamir said.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir addressed Israel Air Force pilots on Tuesday night as he authorized the strike against Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar, saying the mission was part of a broader effort to ensure Israel’s security and hold its enemies accountable.
He gave the order: “You are cleared. Set out to thwart the heads of the Hamas terror organization. We are closing a moral and ethical account in the name of all the victims of October 7. We will not rest and we will not stop until we bring our hostages home and defeat Hamas.”
Terrorists whose sole aspiration was to destroy Israel
“These are the terrorists whose sole aspiration was to be at the forefront of destroying the State of Israel,” Zamir said. “We will continue this mission everywhere, at every range, near and far, to settle accounts with our enemies.”
The IDF and the Shin Bet on Tuesday confirmed a stunning attempt to assassinate Hamas’s leadership in Doha, Qatar.
After two years of Qatar hosting negotiations between Israel and Hamas over hostage exchanges and ceasefires, the government reached the decision that killing the remaining Hamas leaders was more important than leaving that diplomatic channel open.
