German drone maker Quantum Systems expands cooperation with Ukraine
German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems plans to expand its industrial cooperation with Ukraine, with a number of new joint ventures to be revealed during a meeting of high-ranking policymakers, the company said on Tuesday.
Quantum Systems is also ramping up production of 10,000 multi-purpose quadcopter drones in Germany destined for the Ukrainian armed forces, after an initial batch was delivered at the end of March 2026.
Commenting on German-Ukrainian joint ventures, Matthias Lehna, managing director of Quantum Frontline Industries, said: “We are convinced that this form of cooperation forms a central foundation for Europe’s future defence capabilities.”

During several visits to Ukraine, German ministers had said that Germany wished to expand industrial cooperation with Ukrainian defence companies.
They have argued that this is also expected to benefit the Bundeswehr, Germany’s armed forces, either directly or through the experience that it gains.
