‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Will Take Place at the Cannes Film Festival. Here’s Everything We Know

We’ve known for a while that the fourth season of The White Lotus would be jet-setting to the south of France—and now we know why. According to HBO, this installment of Mike White’s anthology series about the misadventures of wealthy vacationers will take place over the course of one week during the Cannes Film Festival.

In its previous three seasons, The White Lotus has reminded us why we love Jennifer Coolidge, introduced us to Leo Woodall, and dared to show us Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sam Nivola expressing a little brotherly love, while exploring big themes including sex, death, class and spirituality.

In March, White told Entertainment Tonight that—unsurprisingly, given the setting—season four will be “a little bit about fame. There are some people who are satisfied with the love of one intimate partner or a family, and then there’s some people who need the love of strangers.”

And for the first time in the show’s history, season four will feature not one but two locations of the titular luxury resort. The Château de la Messardière, a fortress of a luxury hotel in Saint-Tropez, will play the role of the White Lotus Du Cap, while the role of the White Lotus Cannes will be played by the Hôtel Martinez, an art deco palace overlooking the Croisette.

Beyond that, details are still scarce, although if past seasons are anything to go by, you can probably expect an exasperated manager or two, plenty of demanding guests, and at least one dead body.
